Acer palmatum 'Skeeter's Broom'

Skeeter's Broom Japanese Maple Originating as a witches' broom (a dense, dwarf mutation) on a 'Bloodgood', 'Skeeter's Broom' offers similar rich red leaf color but on a much more compact, dense, upright plant. It's great for getting that 'Bloodgood' look in tight spaces. The leaves emerge bright red, hold their color well, and turn brilliant scarlet in the fall.

• Size: Small/Dwarf, upright, typically 6-8 ft tall.
• Uses: Small gardens, containers, narrow spaces, vertical accent.
• Care: Good sun tolerance, similar to 'Bloodgood'. Moist, well-drained soil. Zones 5-9.
