A ultra dwarf selection of oriental spruce , Tom Thumb has brightly colored finger like growth that shines in the sun . This particular selection we have is the cultivar grafted on a standard, to allow optimum air flow and also to allow this cultivar to show it self off despite being one of the slower growing conifers you’ll find . A sport selection off the very popular oriental spruce ‘Skylands’, you will find Tom Thumb will deliver all the color and texture you love from Skylands but in a tight slow growing ball form .
Tom Thumb can be tricky to place in the garden, because although it loves full sun , you will need to sight it properly to ensure the summer heat does not burn it .
