Sango kaku (Coral Bark Maple) An iconic favorite, 'Sango kaku' is prized for its stunning coral-red bark, which provides incredible winter interest, especially against snow. The leaves emerge bright green, sometimes with reddish edges, provide pleasant light shade in summer, and turn a beautiful golden-yellow, often blushed with apricot and rose, in the fall – a perfect contrast to the red stems. Grows upright into a vase shape.
